My name is Mavis Mwale and I am a very passionate midwife. Serving families and communities has been my way of life. From a young age, I was brought up in a diverse community. I am a mother of one and grandmother of three beautiful children. I have been a midwife for more than 10 years but every time I meet expectant couples brings me new hope to serve them up to the stage when they are empowered.
I qualified as a Registered Midwife in 1992 and I have worked with various categories of Healthcare providers, clients and patients. I believe that empowering families pre natally, during their childbirth and post-birth is the best gift any midwife can give to the families as the communities. I believe that midwifery is a calling and that as we go about serving families we should do it with respect, passion and dignity. Midwifery is about preserving life. Making the experience unforgettable. Even for families that have not been able to bring forth a healthy baby we as midwives have a very important role to play in helping them to heal.
